Why do some people encounter ghosts while others never do?

My friend once went to the mountains and encountered a couple of ghosts. The couple said they came out for a walk but died inexplicably. Their families still couldn’t find them. They asked my friend whether he could help them convey a message to their families? My friend refused, saying it would be better to communicate through dreams. Later, the couple found the mother of a bureau director to convey the message through a dream, and finally this was resolved.

In fact, ghosts first seek out people with weaker yang energy (=yang qi, which was considered a vital energy for human’s life), such as the elderly and children. They each have their own motives, some seeking help and others trying to absorb yang energy. Each has its own method of cultivation.
